Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Trina Heidt
Kirsty and Rachel are the Weather Fairies' special helpers. It is up to them to help the fairies collect their missing magical feathers—the same feathers that are used to control the weather in Wetherbury. This time, as Kirsty and Rachel are preparing for a campout in the backyard, they hear a strange popping sound coming from a neighbor's field. It is so hot outside that the corn in the field is actually popping. The girls know that something is very wrong, and they know immediately that one of Jack Frost's nasty goblins is behind the sudden heat wave. Goldie, the Sunshine fairy, and the two girls race immediately to the neighbor's farm and find the goblin using Goldie's feather completely incorrectly. Kirsty comes up with a plan and fools the dimwitted goblin into releasing the feather, and Goldie soon returns the weather to normal. As part of the "Rainbow Magic: The Weather Fairies" series, this short chapter book will be appealing to most little girls who dream of and wish to be friends with modern day fairies.
