Golf By Horace Hutchinson
Horace G. Hutchinson (1859–1932), dubbed "The Father of Golf Instruction," was the first, the most famous, and easily the most prolific golf writer who ever lived. This particular book, Golf, published originally in 1901, provides the reader with an opportunity to enjoy the benefits of his wisdom on a variety of different topics relating to golf, from how to play the game to a brief history of how the game started, from the rules of the game and how they developed to proper etiquette. There is even a glossary of terms so the reader can--finally!--learn the difference between a baff and a baffy, a brassy and a mashie, a bulger and a bogey.

Interesting bit of trivia: this book was originally published with a glaring error which improperly located a chunk of it in the wrong chapter and in the wrong order, so this eBook version might be the first time this book has ever been available as the author intended.

Preparing old books for digital publication is a labor of love at Travelyn Publishing. We hold our digital versions of public domain books up against any others with no fear of the comparison. Our conversion work is meticulous, utilizing a process designed to eliminate errors, maximize reader enjoyment, and recreate as much as possible the atmosphere of the original book even as we are adding the navigation and formatting necessary for a good digital book. While remaining faithful to a writer's original words, and the spellings and usages of his era, we are not above correcting obvious mistakes. That's why we have the audacity to claim that our re-publications are often better than the originals.
