Golf Sense was recommended by a friend who couldn't stop talking about it so I felt I should give it a go. And I have to agree with him, it's an amazing book that has changed how I approach my game and made a big difference. I don't usually go to the trouble of writing reviews but felt I had to say something about this one as its so different from others Ive read. The book doesnt talk about golf technique but about how you move and prepare to play. The simple exercises made me realize I wasnt moving as well as I should and my shots suffered for it. Palmer has written something unique in my view and every golfer should read it and try his techniques.
It does get a little heavy going in the chapter about the theory of what happens between thinking about your shot and playing it - but frankly it doesnt matter if you skip this bit as there are plenty of practical exercises that will help you understand.
Palmer is a teacher of The Alexander Technique and has applied the method to golf technique but it goes further than just the physical side. Each chapter has a quick and easy tip on how you can change your mental state to get into The Zone. The beauty of the book is that it is very practical - even when talking about the mental side of things. Ive read Zen Golf and benefited from Parent's advice but found this book put everything into easy steps and if anything goes further.
Golf Sense is an excellent book and would surely help any golfer improve their game.
