Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Mary Quattlebaum
Young readers can get a taste of Byars' humorous storytelling in her "I Can Read" series. This story offers us two goofy performers of Wild West times in the Golly Sisters. In addition to funning, though, the sisters deal with issues of sibling rivalry, disappointment at unappreciative audiences, and the challenge of the unknown.

Kids and Parents Will Laugh Out Loud

This book is a riot! A great book about singing sisters with a spirit for adventure. 'The Golly Sisters Go West' will crack up kids and adults alike with its funny, good-hearted storyline. Like the other reviewer listed, I remember this story from my childhood, and I remember my mother laughing as much as I did! Very funny!

    Reminds me of my childhood!

I learned to read by this book and I remember many nights listening to my mother read to my sister and I. We laughed so much! I am 23 now and laugh every time I think of May-May and Rose. It is wonderful book with a delightful story and hilarious pictures! Highly recommended!
