I looked up the real version of the book. Off to the side, the site had a link to the "nook" version. This isn't the full book, just chapter summaries. I am very disappointed, and this hardly promotes reading.

This shows the Spark Notes NookBook on the same page as the actual book. I was trying to buy the actual book "The Good Earth" for my Nook and I got these useless Spark Notes (as I am not a student) by mistake!
Beware!

The Good Earth by Pearl S. Buck was published in 1931. It became one of the most popular novels in the 20th century. It tells of the way ordinary people who are farmers live and struggle to survive on small plots of land in rural China. The main characters, Wang Lung and O-lan, are strong and resourceful, rearing their family during droughts and floods. It is a story that holds your interest and is an eye-opener. Untill this story very little was known of the real way people in rural China lived. It is not so different from that of such people in other places in the world. It is an easy read and I recommend it highly.

The Good Earth is fantastic. The book talks about family, love, work, and everything else you could imagine. It portrays a man's life, Wang Lung, and how he suffers through the good and bad. I read it and I did not want to put it down. I have read more than 60 books, and The Good Earth is my all-time favorite!

Such a true masterpiece to me. This book is one of my top ten favorites. The characters, the struggles, the family, and a story telling of a peasent farmer turning into a wealthy man after so much hardships. I could not put this book down for a whole week... I am a bit of a slow reader. Yet when reading this book I was amazed at how surprisingly good it was. I hope to find the seqauls soon.

I am looking for The Good Earth, not chapter summaries, not someone else's notes; I can provide my own, thank you very much. This should not be listed next to the book as an ebook, simply because it is not the book. Why not just say that The Good Earth is not available as an ebook????
