Having just come out of a long term relationship, I find the insight of gay relationships both positive and negative to be something I could really relate to and understand. Within the pages, a picture of not only what it is to love someone is vividly brought to life but the reader also learns about the need for sacrifice, forgiveness, and acceptance with regards to gay relationships. The Good Neighbor is not only a realistic story, it is a story that offers not only hope for true and meaningful relationships, but offers the reader a sense of peace when one finds himself at the end of a relationship, too. The last paragraph, along with several others in the novel, is beautifully written. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Two couples, one gay and one straight, (mirror images of each other in some respects) collide in suburbia. Interesting psychological insights about men and masculinity, relationships, and sex add up to a very entertaining and thought provoking read. Highly recommended. Was this review helpful?
