This book was a real help for me in my teen years when I was trying to figure out if I wanted to follow in the church's teachings on Sexuality. It not only reassured me that I wanted to value my sexuality, but it also taught me why it's important and why God intended us to respect our bodies. This book is outstanding and I would recommend it to anyone who has questions about sexuality. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. This book was given to me from a very close friend/metnor when I was in my Freshman year of College. A time when so much can happen with our sexuality, chastity or virginity. Whether those things are of concern or if you would like to restore that part of your life, this is an excellent book to read. It is helpful and meaningful and has enlightened my life and helped me identify my respect for sex and the sacrament of marriage. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. This book changes the way you look at sex. In a great way. It brings God back into the bedroom. This book explains ALL the questions you would never ask a sponsor or god parent. This book is also a very staight line, so , read it and re-read it and open yourselves to God but remember you are human and it is hard to follow all the rules he puts out there. Was this review helpful? This book is a must for anyone with questions about sexuality (who doesn't), parent's raising pre-adolescents and adolescents, as well as Catholics trying to grasp a stronger hold on their beliefs and the church's teaching. Extensive references to the Bible as well as Pope John Paul II's writings, along with a resource list. Excellent readability while conveying the teaching extensively...A MUST HAVE!!Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

There is truly no better gift you can give to those engaged or married than the wisdom of this book. If you're like those of us who were married a while before it was written, get it for us too! It's never too late to improve your marriage with the life-transforming power of this book. Truly an inspiration of the Holy Spirit, Christopher West powerfully and eloquently explains John Paul II's Theology of the Body and how it can and will radically transform the world we live in. He explains how this 'theological timebomb' is the means by which the 'new evangelization' will take place, and how that will impact each and every one of our lives. This theology truly points us all as male and female to that sought after answer to the age old question of the meaning of life. By means of an introduction to the Pope's theology followed by a question and answer format, the author is able to lay the ground work for its understanding followed by specific answers and advice. If you've ever had any questions about Catholic teaching on sexual matters, you're sure to find the answer here. Christopher is able to do this with great empathy and deep insight because this very theology transformed his own life so radically. The best thing I can say is simply this: READ THE BOOK, because it will literally change the way you look at everything. If you're courageous enough to let it sink in, it will change your life forever. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

I'm unimpressed with most Catholic sex books -- they're either too sappy and prudishly vague, or too clinical, or try to be too cute in their orientation toward teens, or are just plain heterodox. This one is different. It's frank, without being prurient. It's clear. It's written for grown-ups. And best of all, from its sound practical advice to its soaring theological reflection, it's thoroughly Catholic. Archbishop Chaput said it best: 'Do the Church -- and yourself -- a favor: Read and reread this book. Encourage everyone you know to do the same.'Was this review helpful?
