Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Lorrie-Ann Melnick
It is time for Daniel Tiger to get ready for bed, he is a little reluctant after playing all day, but he knows the routine: bathtime, pjs, brush teeth, story and song, and off to bed! Young children will enjoy this relatable story of getting ready for bed. Each part of Daniel Tiger’s bedtime routine is described in an enjoyable, playful way with imagination and songs. He takes a trolley ride to bath time on his father’s shoulders and sings songs with his mother. In the end, he realizes that he is ready for bed and his mother and father sing him a goodnight song as he snuggles down to sleep. This book is part of the “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood” series based on a PBS Kids television series by the same name, which in turn was inspired by the classic television series, Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood. Other characters from the series appear in the book. The pages have a sturdy, water-resistant texture and the cover is texturized to feel like Daniel Tiger’s familiar red sweater. Reviewer: Lorrie-Ann Melnick; Ages 3 to 7.

    Cute, but Flimsy

My daughter loves Daniel Tiger, and this book is very cute. BUT, the pages are so flimsy that she tore a page nearly off withing 1 hour of having this book. She was not being rough with the book, just turning the page. These pages are not as sturdy as other child books.

My two year old daughter really loves Daniel Tiger, so when we were browsing B&N the other day and stumbled across this book she HAD to have it. Since then we have had to read it every night before bed (and more than a few times during the day.) It's got nice thick pages so it should hold up to some toddler abuse. The story follows the same general plot as the bedtime episode and even includes some familiar songs! Beautifully illustrated and just the right length for us. Love it!
