Children's Literature - Carrie Hane Hung
The wind picks up, and with a whirl and twirl the magic tree house settles in New Orleans, Louisiana. Jack and Annie's adventure takes them back to the year 1915 on All Saints' Day. They need to locate young Louis Armstrong or Dipper as he is known to his friends. Jack and Annie's mission is to help Dipper "bring his gifts to the world." Dipper's gift is music. For those who are not familiar with Louis Armstrong, he is known as the "King of Jazz." When Jack and Annie find Dipper, he is going from one job to the next to help his family. He is so busy that his friends, Little Mack, Happy, and Big Nose Sidney, have a difficult time convincing him to perform in the All Saints' Day parade, at Jackson Square, or on the riverboats. Jack and Annie take some drastic measures to guide Armstrong onto his musical path, perhaps even with a little help with some ghosts. Fans of Jack and Annie will probably enjoy this adventure from the "Magic Tree House: A Merlin Mission" series. There is a research guide on ghosts that is a companion to this story. Have fun and entertainment with Annie and Jack on this wonderful adventure going back in time to the early 1900s in New Orleans, LA. With a fascinating storyline you are sure to be caught up in this tale of suspense and mystery. Do you believe in ghosts? Well, this tale may make you a believer. Come along with Jack and Annie and find out if there are ghosts and find out about Dipper. Dipper has something wonderful to offer the world. Do you know what that is? And will Dipper share this special ¿secret¿ with the world? If you want to know, just read "A Good Night for Ghosts" and find the answers to these and other questions. **Great leisure time reading. You will probably enjoy the other novels with these same protagonists.

A Good Night For Ghosts is #42 in the Magic Tree House Series. This story follows Jack and Annie to New Orleans as they are commissioned to convince Louis "Dipper" Armstrong to follow his music and bring his gift of music to the world. As Jack and Annie follow Dipper around New Orleans on the eve of All Saints Day they meet Dipper's friends, they are terrified by pirate ghosts, eat gumbo and doughnuts, and learn to sing scat. This historical fiction story is full of adventure and excitement and teaches children to remain positive and follow your dreams.
