Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly - Publisher's Weekly
This board book boasts an unusual novelty feature-the book's spine has been expanded into a tube form, just wide enough to hold a tiny, plush version of Little Bear, the star of this volume of the Little Hugs series. In the story, Mother Bear helps Little Bear settle in for the night by describing what other furry creatures do at bedtime, for instance, "Father Squirrel gives each baby a kiss on the nose" and "Mother Mouse rocks her babes till they close their bright eyes." Young readers can practice each of these bedtime activities with the toy bear; a box on each spread urges participation ("Little Bear wants a hug, too!"). Treacly illustrations suit the rather precious text, as well as the book's intention: sweet dreams. Ages 2-6. (Mar.)
