Overview

First a story, and then a kiss from Mother Bear, and Father Bear carries Little Bear to bed. And that's when the fun begins. Father Bear gets to Little Bear's room, but Little Bear is missing! Little readers will see him hiding in the MOST obvious place but Father Bear cannot seem to find him. Is he under the stove? Is he in the garden? Is he in the woodbox? Only when Father Bear walks past the mirror does the silliness end, and in a very tasty way. With this, one of the most charming bedtime tales ever, Richard Scarry has once again proven his timeless appeal.

This has been our favorite family Goldenbook. My daughter was so excited that I found the book to read to my newest grandchild, Emma, who will soon be turning one. Reading this book to my children and grandchildren is one of my treasured memories. You will not be dissapointed.

This was my all time favorite book to have read to me and to read when I was younger. Now I have nieces and nephews and I immediately thought about this book for them. I couldn't remember the name, but the story was so unique, it wasn't hard to figure out that this is it. If you know a kid that isn't crazy about going to bed, this fun tale about bedtime is just perfect. It encourages imagination and feeds off every kid's love of playing hide and go seek. Pretty amazing that at 29 years old, having not seen the book for 20+ years, the story is still as vivid and charming now as it was those nights long ago when I fell asleep with this book in my arms.

My son is three, and loves storytime before bed. This is a fun read, and has great illustrations for kids.

It's a bit wordy for him to be patient enough to read everything before he wants to turn the next page, but this is one of his favorites and will bring it to me to read. I don't mind reading this one over and over. Richard Scarry does a great job with illustrations and we always find something new to point out.
