Good Time

Editorial Reviews

Barnes & Noble
A.J. returns to the basics after confounding fans for a couple years with a gospel album and a sophisticated, low-key set produced by Alison Krauss. Good Time is not without its curveballs, tho: The entire album was written by Jackson himself, and it's not a trifling disc, either, with 17 cuts to the running time. Chockablock with standard A.J. fare (drinkin', cheatin', the like), Good Time lives up the title, and features the hit "Small Town Southern Man."

Described as a back-to-basics move, his first straight-up country album since 2004....In its own way, “Good Time” is just as audacious as what came before. It has 17 songs (a lot for a country album), and it is the first album of his career that has only one name — his — in the songwriting credits....But mostly the album is a joy, well made and packed with the clever musical details that make Mr. Jackson’s best music so satisfying.

"Nothing Left To Do" is the funniest song you'll ever

"Nothing Left To Do" is the funniest song you'll ever hear. How can anything AJ does, be bad?

    Good Time by Alan Jackson

I was very disappointed in this CD. I purchased it because of the song that Alan had written and recorded about an employee of his who had passed away. For this reason, I seldom purchase music anymore. I wait for a "Greatest Hits" CD thereby saving money and space. On the up side, Alan Jackson is my favorite artist.
