"It's the sign of a true artisan when he can create beauty from what others consider trash. It takes heart to use a twisted bit of scrap and make something from it as if it were good wood."

Somehow Joe survived the unlivable, and now he's just going through the motions. An endless string of one night stands does little to dull the ache from all he's lost.

Even though he distracts himself daily with back-breaking work, his violent rage still simmers just under the surface.

Then along comes Molly, the feisty baby sister of his two best friends. Joe hasn't seen her in years, and he's unprepared for his reaction to her when she falls out of the food truck and into his arms. Molly is still as mouthy as ever, and now she's as delicious as the food she's serving up. It's totally against "The Bro Code", but he just can't seem to keep his hands off of her.

Molly has come back home to Austin to mend fences and feed a whole new crowd. Dealing with Joe's demons doesn't figure into her business model. Something is very different about him and she craves the 'Old Joe' she used to have a crush on.

Still, the broody carpenter's swagger is damn near irresistible. And all work and no play makes Molly a cranky girl.

Michelle Pace lives in north Texas with her husband, Les, who is also a novelist. She is the mother of two lovely daughters, Holly and Bridgette, and one uber-charismatic son, Kai. 4.5 star I was pulled right into this story. This story has laughs, tragedy, rage and heartbreak. This is Molly and Joe’s story. Both Molly and Joe are broken. Molly is working on getting her life back together. Joe’s still battling his demons. Molly is home to help her family not to help and heal Joe. But can she resist the pull he has on her? Will he be able to leave her be? Or will the chemistry between the two be too much to resist? I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read. I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story in this series.

Molly is a strong tattooed woman with a plan to run a upscale food truck. She ends up on her brothers work site and runs into an old buddy of her brothers that she hasnt seen in yrs. She has no idea of what has happened in his life and he has no clue about hers. Joe life has been hard on him since his wife passed away while pregnant with child and all her secrets come out of debt , gambling and hiding stuff from him. Joe blocked him self from the world. Till he runs into Molly who hes not sure how to move forward. There both at a crossroads. Joe and Molly are adorable together love this story

Love Love this book! I could not put it down once I picked it up and then when I finished I didn't want it to end. I laughed and cried. There are few books that can truly pull the tears from me but Good Wood did just that and so much more. If you love a book that is emotionally packed this is one you are going to want to read! I love Molly she is strong but broken. She pulls herself up no matter what is thrown in her path. She is quick witted and just all around fun. Joe is amazing he has his faults but don't we all. With all that has been thrown at Joe it amazing he still has any fight left in him. So many struggles that the both face and how strong they end up being just blows you away!

My normal genre is horror and thrillers. This book is neither but I was instantly drawn in to each character and fell in love with all of them. I am on the edge of my seat waiting for the next book Mollywood. I could not put this book down once I started reading it. I highly suggest reading this book no matter what genre you normally stick to.

By far my favorite book of 2014! Joe and Molly will win your heart in no time. The closeness of the families is something I just love to read in books. Families should stick together. You will laugh, possibly even snort, and you will cry. Joe is broken, and has changed in so many ways. Molly, who is recently divorced, moves backs to Austin, and runs in to Joe, who she had a childhood crush on, and well, yeah you guessed it, they can't keep their hands off each other!! Les and Michelle Pace did an amazing job writing this book, and I am so happy to give them 5 stars! I'd do 10 stars, if it was possible!

In their debut novel as co-authors, Les and Michelle Pace have hit a freaking grand slam home run. Their writing is seamless and the  entire book is SO well written, it comes pretty close to being flawless.  Joe's life has been wrecked. Completely devastated. He's a bad  shadow of who he used to be. Molly's been traumatized by her own past, and when she runs into her former crush, she's shocked at  who he's become. As Les and Michelle take us on a roller coaster ride through the relationship forming between them, they weave the  story beautifully, never leaving out a detail that's important, and leaving the reader breathless. The story takes place in Austin, and I want to mention that the depths to which the Paces went to get it right are phenomenal. Their  descriptions really put me right in the middle of the action and I could truly SEE the places they took us.  This is a book about healing, and learning to love and trust again. And it's absolutely stunningly written. HUGE 5-Star thumbs up
