Editorial Reviews

From Barnes & Noble
And finally, it's time for bed, which offers youngsters another opportunity to touch and unfold the amusing delights of cuddling up to animals, fictitious and real, and insects. With its glow-in-the-dark stars, its an apt sleepy time read.
Publishers Weekly
From a dragon's "crinkly" goodnight kiss to a fly's "squeaky" smooch, the touch-and-feel book Goodnight Kisses by Barney Saltzberg provides youngest readers with a variety of new tactile and aural sensations. Each page folds out and proffers something new to touch or hear. Copyright 2006 Reed Business Information.
From The Critics
This "Touch and Feel" book has five pages to turn, each spread becoming a 3-page triptych when opened (the inside edge of the right hand page folds out). Only two of the illustrations on the pages to be opened out have any connection with either the questions on the left side page (i.e. "Who likes fluffy goodnight kisses?") or the exposed illustration underneath (featuring an inserted piece of tactile material, such as the black-and-white blanket cloth in the stomach of the zebra underneath). The outside illustration for that particular page-turning experience is a sailboat toy on wheels. A little more planning and/or thought could have produced more of a learning experience for a young reader. More advance planning might also have avoided the need for an extra thick page near the end of the book, which may or may not have been planned for some kind of squeaker. Nothing made noise in the book I reviewed. 2006, Red Wagon Books/Harcourt, Ages 6 mo. to 3.

    Cute book.

This is a nice book to read to your little one right before bedtime to settle down from the day. It's not a bedtime "story" really, but still a good bedtime book.
