When Grace’s former professor calls to warn her that there have been a rash of thefts at various historical sites, Grace isn’t surprised—because Marshfield Manor has been targeted, too. She wonders if it has something to do with the film crew roaming the grounds, digitally immortalizing the manor, but then she gets distracted by an incident much more dire: the shooting of one guest and the murder of another.
Grace does her best not to go looking for trouble, but with a murderer on the loose, she can’t seem to leave the dirty work to the cops—especially since the killer still seems to be lurking around town, waiting to finish the job of making Grace history…
Grace has her hands full. There is film crew making a souvenir movie of Marshfield Manor and the owner's stepdaughter has dropped by for an unexpected visit. The last thing she needs is the news she received from former professor. Apparently historic places like Marshfield Manor are being targeted by thieves. She is confident in their security team until a guest is murdered and another one shot. There is just not enough manpower to spread around.
Grace has reason to believe the killer and thieves are lurking about. The two things may even be connected. She will do anything for Marsheild Manor and its owner even if it means putting herself in danger. Grace my just find herself armed and dangerous.
I couldn't wait to read this story. I have become invested in the people at Marshfield Manor. Grace, Frances, Bennett and even Hillary. They is never a dull moment when she is around.
Grace again gets involved in all the drama with all the best intentions. Frances tries to keep everyone in line and Bennett watches over everyone.
The author reeled me in with this one and had me hook, line and sinker. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. So much excitement and suspense I forgot it was a cozy!
Julie Hyzy writes wonderful stories and each one is better than the last. If you were waiting for this one like me you will really enjoy it. If this is a new author for you start at the beginning, read them in order, and enjoy. I can't wait to she what kind of trouble Grace gets into next!!

Julie has done it again; she’s written a great story that showcases the strength and moxie of Grace Wheaton as she investigates thefts and another murder at Marshfield Manor. The author did a good job in fleshing out this mystery with plenty of diversion that kept my attention as I could not put this book down. This was an excellent read and I can’t wait for what happens next at Marshfield Manor in this enjoyably pleasant series.

Grace manages to juggle the many demands of running Marshfield Manor with aplomb, whether it be dealing with the possibility that the stepdaughter of the owner is pilfering, dealing with wandering tourists, overseeing a film crew making a DVD of the manor, or planning a strategy to foil a gang of thieves that has been targeting art museums and homes like Marshfield Manor. All things are set aside when a young girl is murdered and the man who went to help her shot. While Grace doesn’t interfere with the police investigation, she doesn’t stand aside either. She enrolls Rooney and even Frances, her curmudgeon of a secretary, to help her. While she hopes she can trust the shooting victim, she keeps her own counsel which leads her to the true culprits. Grace Among the Thieves is a smart, fast, and entertaining read. There are moments of humor to leaven the fast moving plot and hints of complications to come. It's definitely a must read for the summer!

Grace Among Thieves is Julie's third Marshfield Manor book and it is very possibly the best. She has weaved terrific twists and turns into the story and as always, keeps you engaged till the very end. In this book, Grace is dealing with the invasion of Marshfield Manor by a film crew who are making a marketing DVD for Marshfield, and at the same time a series of small thefts are taking place at the Manor. There is a murder and, of course, Grace ends up in the middle of it, but the twist that Julie accomplished with the investigation is fantastic, though I must admit I didn't want it to be the person it was. And the ending - too clever and funny. Great job, once again, Julie! Can't wait to begin the next adventure!

I love everything Ms. Hyzy writes! She hooked me with her White House Chef series and now the Manor House Series. Once I start one of her books I'm unable to put it down until it's finished. Great job once again and I agree with a previous person's review, the books just keep getting better and better. Here is to many more sleepless nights! Old Cross-Stitcher!

A return visit to Marshfield Manor with Grace and her coworkers is always a delight. This time we find out Frances is not quite as cold to Grace as she once was, Bennett of course is a lovable "Mister" of the estate, and the roommates/ wine merchants, Bruce and Scott along with Bootsie are irresistible. Mix in murder, theft and a hint of romance with a twist and you have a Cosy well worth the read. Grace Among Thieves is a much anticipated addition to the Manor House mysteries by Julie Hyzy. Well done, don't stop now. PatW

In Hyzy’s mystery novel, Marshfield Manor has been targeted for theft along with many other such homes. Grace Wheaton, curator and manager of Marshfield manor, starts to suspect the film crew currently under contract to make a DVD of the Manor for marketing purposes. First there is a murder and then Grace is swept off her feet by a charming man from out-of-town. But a killer lurks in the shadows and Grace just can’t help but initiate an investigation of her own.
An intriguing and engaging read and a fabulous addition to the A Manor House Mystery series.
