Dena Dyer writes with honesty and vulnerability about the ways God has revealed Himself within the struggles of motherhood. She invites us to experience with her the sustaining grace of God—with humor, strength, and patience. Like many moms, Dyer recognizes that busy moms race through the days, juggling many responsibilities and challenges. Her short meditations inspire, encourage, and redirect the attention of the heart to the things that really matter.
Grace for the Race is divided into nine sections. Each piece begins with a thought-provoking and/or humorous quote and ends with “Notes from the Coach,” encouraging scriptures related to the meditation. These brief reflections invite us to see our own childhood through the lens of God’s grace and to accept weaknesses as gifts from God designed to make us more compassionate. Dyer gently leads us through the challenges of parenting—including perfectionism, competitiveness, unrealistic expectations, and the need for a network of support.
Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 9 that we must run the race as if our life depended on it. These devotionals are meant to help you recognize your place in the race (and God’s offer of peace in the midst of storms).
“Dena Dyer writes this encouraging devotional with vulnerability and wisdom, which will refresh the hearts of busy moms in whatever season of life they find themselves.”
“As a mother of seven, I appreciate a book that allows me to escape the hectic pace of motherhood and take an oasis break for a moment or two. Dena Dyer has created a delightful haven with words for busy moms. I highly recommend this wonderful book. In one gentle stroke, it will lighten your load, rejuvenate your sense of fun, and refresh your spirit.”
“Dena Dyer is a young mother who ‘tells it like it is’—often harried, often hilarious, and often awesome. Her ‘Notes from the Coach’ after each devotional provide a grand finale for the daily message. The scriptures she cites are right on and speak from the printed page with just the message needed for the day.”

Dena Dyer is constantly losing her keys and cell phone, but is holding onto sanity (barely!). She's blessed to have God and her mom on speed dial, which helps a lot.
Dena's favorite "jobs" are being a wife to her talented husband, Carey, and mom to their two hilarious boys, Jordan and Jackson. Her other roles include participating in the music ministry at her church, serving as a Welcome Editor for The High Calling, and speaking to women's groups.
Dena has written for publication since the age of twelve and has credits in hundreds of magazines such as Redbook, Parenting, Ladies' Home Journal, Today’s Christian Woman, Writer’s Digest, and Focus on the Family.
