Grace Happens: Stories of Everyday Encounters with Grace

Grace Happens: Stories of Everyday Encounters with Grace

by Bob Libby

Editorial Reviews

Library Journal - Library Journal
Libby, an Episcopal priest, offers a moving collection of ``short stories,'' which he claims are all true, about God in everyday--though not necessarily ordinary--life. He writes about grace, which leads to reconciliation, new direction, heroism, healing, strength, and a sense of God's presence. One story that stands out involves a man who receives a transplant but whose body rejects it; he subsequently dies just after a prayer chain for his recovery intercedes for him. Each story is followed by reflections to engage the reader in finding God's grace in the joyful and the painful, but Libby does not force his own conclusions. An excellent book for small group discussions and individual meditation. Recommended for all libraries.
