    Cute, but..

It's a cute story, but I disliked the part about the hound being let loose to chase rabbits and squirrels and 'eventually came back' to her owner. Everyone knows greyhounds should never be off leash. I also didn't like the part that referenced her sleeping outside in a dog house. Greyhounds are indoor pets.

    It's OBVIOUSLY a children's book...

You don't go into it expecting a literary masterpiece. However, not many children's books will actually mention the possibility of euthenasia for non-adopted greyhounds.

Short and sweet, decent for a bedtime story for any child that likes the breex.

    Not good childrens lit

I love all dogs but the point of this story is to push a political agenda on young children, not entertain. No interior illustrations makes it nearly impossible to keep the attention of a little one. Euthanasia is not something a young child can easily understand and the author does not explain it.
