The start of this book was a bit disjointed and difficult to get into, but as time went by it was interesting to follow his time through. It was especially for me, as my father was in the Royal Engineers stationed in the same areas for the most part that he was in, including the landings in Italy etc. The only difference was my father built roads, bridges & hospitals, he never mentioned bomb disposale.
