A must-have for a very exciting, entertaining and efficient trip to the Grand Canyon

My wife just got back from the Grand Canyon and defiantly would not have had the time that we did if we did not have this book on us! Personally I get a Lonely Planet travel book before I go anywhere, its always the basis for my research into my travels. This travel book is no different from any other Lonely Planet books, it has great reviews, tips, activity ideas, sample itineraries and more. There are a couple pages of pictures in the beginning, but if you are a real visual person I would recommend supplementing this book with a picture book of some sort. Have fun, and be safe!

A slender light brown she cat with white paws and muzzle pads in. Her ragged fur ruffles in the wind. I would like to join.

If you plan to visist the Grand Canyon and do some hiking, you should prepare yourself.

I was looking for a guide with some photos as inspiration and effective discription of possible hikes to make a preselection of trails for a winter visit at the Grand Canyon. Beside hiking I was looking also for other possible activities at the Grand Canyon and selected this guide after having a look at the available guides in the local BN store.
You can get already some information on the webpage of the National Park, but I wanted a little bit more.
Hiking the Grand Canyon has some partly deadly risks, if you are not well prepared and overestimate your skills, resources and supplies. The maps for the individual trails in this guide include altitude lines, an often neglected topic in many hiking guides in the US and an very important information for the Grand Canyon hikes.
Additional information is available at the visitor centers and bookstores at the Grand Canyon, but it is better to use the time at the National Park for some nice hikes.
