Do you have a Grandma? I think Grandmas are really special people. Of course, I think my Grandma Harriet is the best grandma in the world. When I think of my Grandma, I think of loving hands and warm, cozy, handmade quilts ... and chocolate chip cookies!
What is special about your Grandma?
Grandma tells me that she is an octogenarian. I didn't know what that meant so I asked my Mom and she told me it is someone who is 80 years old. Yep, that's my Grandma! She is pretty old, but she doesn't seem that old to me.
How old is your Grandma?
Grandma Harriet has beautiful silver gray hair that she always pulls back in a sort of a bun. I don't ever remember Grandma not wearing her hair that way. Grandma also wears round wire-rimmed glasses – spectacles she calls them – I guess because she doesn't see as well as she used to see.
My Grandma can hear very well! She always knows my footsteps when I try to sneak up on her. Believe me, there is no use whispering a secret to a friend if you are close to Grandma because she will hear it, and it won't be a secret anymore!
Can your Grandma keep a secret?
My Grandma Harriet smiles the biggest smile I have ever seen. She lets her big white teeth show. I asked her once if all her teeth belong to her, and she smiled and said, "Every single one!"
Grandma always wears a dress and an apron. I don't know why, but I guess that is what she wants to wear. She has some very colorful aprons, and each one has a pocket ... where Grandma keeps her handkerchief. I call it a "Kleenex" but Grandma always corrects me.
Does your Grandma wear an apron?
My Grandma Harriet makes the best chocolate chip cookies in the world! They are so yummy I can never have just one or two – my Grandma puts six cookies on the plate and I eat every single crumb.
What kind of cookies does your Grandma make?
