I couldn't put the book down! It was such a mixture of laughter and tears and happiness and sadness. I wish Frankie James would come out with the second novel soon!!!

This book took me on a journey of a family that all of us can relate too. Mr. Ellis writes like a male version of Fannie Flagg with his take on one family that words can not describe. I would recommend this book to anyone

This is the story of a boy's coming of age within a dysfunctional family. If you have ever lost a loved one, been hurt by love, felt the joy of love, argued with loved ones at a funeral, hated your job but loved the people you work with, or just loved the woods then this story is for you.

this book raises important issues concerning 'the family' and what we think the family unit should be,

I felt like I was looking through Bobby Lee's windows even though I shouldn't have been. But he leave the blinds wide open as he says in the book. GOOD STUFF - Like today's reality TV.

I fell in love with this nuclear family, this motley crew of siblings and Mom. They put me in mind of a modern day Oliver Twist with the bowl of gruel now a cheeseburger and fries. I so wanted Bobby Lee to make it his way, in his own time. A very satisfying read. Can't wait for a sequel.

I Loved reading about Bobby Lee and his wild family and couldn't wait to find out what happen to all 7 kids. It is amazing they all survived. Clearly this a family that was lead by a drunk who loved them endlessly. Gay White Trash, what a different point of view! Who would think it even exist today. Frankie James has got something to say, no doubt. This is pretty good for a first novel. He has a cool website which is listed on his cover. I recommend the book. There are no great revelations here, but it was just plain good reading, FUN for no reason.
