David Chase is a native of Brattleboro, Vermont. Over the years he has performed in community theater, worked as a carpenter, a truck driver, and a wine sales person, among other things. He served for ten years on the Brattleboro Planning Commission, was a founding member of BCTV, Channel 8 in Brattleboro, and he wrote a weekly column for the Brattleboro Reformer and the Keene Sunday Sentinel for several years. In 1987 he published a collection of pieces from his column in A Peasant of West Brattleboro. He spent a one month residency at The Millay Colony for the Arts in 1989. His three act play, As Fair As You Were, was produced by Vermont Theatre Company in 2009. In addtion to his life in Brattleboro he has lived in Sonoma County, California, and Hannington, Northamptonshire, England. He and his wife Susan now live in Keene, New Hampshire.
Grants Ferry is his first novel.
