Children's Literature - Diane Carver SekeresOne of a series of books in the "Habitats" series, this title offers the young reader an information book with all the parts: table of contents, chapters, glossary, resource pages, and an index. The book is beautifully laid out with soft backgrounds, striking photographs of plant life and animals, and large, easy-to-read text blocks. The vocabulary is more difficult than the short sentences and medium amount of text on a page might warrant, however. The book also assumes that the reader knows the difference between a state and another country or continent in order to locate where grasslands exist. Overall, the organization of the book and the interesting photos make it attractive for geography lessons.
