About the Author

Katherine J Batsis, "Kathi" was born in Concord, MA and graduated from Lesley College (now university) and Simmons College (now university) MA, has been an Educational Media Specialist for 25 years in Toms River, New Jersey. Active in her profession (in local, county, and statewide school and library associations) in 2 part-time businesses, in music (square, round, contra, and folk dancing, and performing in a musical ensemble, "Go for Baroque") and was inspired by her husband's activities in Kiwanis International to serve her community as a literacy volunteer, a blood donor, and member of Soroptimist International. "grateful AND blessed" is her first poetry book. "Dr. Andrew Batsis, Husband! Dentist! Kiwanian! Santa Claus?" is her first book of prose, a memoir of her husband and their life together.
