When the dead need to talk, Alex Craft is always ready to listen…

As a Grave Witch, Alex solves murders by raising the dead—an ability that comes at a cost, and after her last few cases, that cost is compounding. But her magic isn’t the only thing causing havoc in her life. While she’s always been on friendly terms with Death himself, things have recently become a whole lot more close and personal. Then there’s her sometime partner, agent Falin Andrews, who is under the glamour of the Winter Queen. To top everything off, her best friend has been forever changed by her time spent captive in Faerie.

But the personal takes a backseat to the professional when a string of suicides occur in Nekros City and Alex is hired to investigate. The shades have no memory of the days leading up to their brutal endings, so despite the very public apparent suicides, this is murder. But what kind of magic can overcome the human will to survive? And why do the shades lack the memory of their deaths? Searching for the answer might mean Alex won’t have a life to remember at all…

Unique I strongly suggest you read the previous books in the series
(Grave Witch and Grave Dance) prior to reading this installment. This
was another great installment. It wasn’t the best in the series but
it’s still a worthy read. This installment devoted a considerable
amount of focus to the love triangle aspect and a bit less focus on
action than previous books. However, the plot still delivers a healthy
dose of excitement and intrigue. The unfolding of Alex’s fae
awakening is fascinating. I can’t wait to see where her evolution takes
her next. I recommend this book to fellow dark urban fantasy readers.
I hope this is not the end of the series and that there are more books
slated for release in the near future.

    Great series!

This series is great from the first book and every single one leaves you wanting the next one right now. This author's work is right there with Laurell Hamilton. I'll read these books again.

This book is soooo good! I cant wait for the next book. I have to admit that the twilight love triangle is getting old however I love both of the guys that she likes and cant decided between.  I like that she knows that neither one is good for her .  I'm interested in finding out more about her fae side.  Cant wait for the next one.

    Please decide

I enjoyed this book but not near as much as I did the others of this series. I tire of the romance triangle. I prefer Death but just pick. This love dilema is starting to distract from an outstanding Urban Fantasy series. I hope that this issue is finally settled in the next book of the series. If not then this series may have to be categorized under "romance trash" and "don't read" headings for me.

    AWESOME, GREAT FOLLOW UP!

I love Kalayna's writing , and this book didn't dissapoint. the Fact that "Death" had a major roll to play made it even better for me, I love that character and I would like him to be the main male lead in the series.

    A must read

I happened to get the first book in this series on a whim and im glad i did. This series offers new views on the fantasy realm and i can never seem to put these books down. If you like a strong female role with some romance and mystery, and magic and the world of fairy then i say get these books!
