Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

Praise for the Children of the Lamp series:
"Kerr puts an ingenious spin on the enchanted-lamp theme in his first novel for children. . . ." --BOOKLIST

"A breakneck-paced, Indiana Jones-style adventure. . . . Kerr keeps the emphasis on fun. . . ." --PUBLISHERS WEEKLY

"[T]he humor is just right, the captivating world of the djinn is faultlessly depicted and expanded, and Kerr balances the resolution with enough uncertainties to draw readers back for the next installment. This work is likely to win new fans as well as please those who enjoyed the previous book." --VOICE OF YOUTH ADVOCATES

    Suprising, but epic

This book left me with the strangest feeling. It is written brilliantly, and Kerr drops hints that while true, are almost misleading. The ending is startling, but clever, and it makes sense in a way that nobody ever expected.

I loved this book full of action and adventure. A book about two youg djin trying to stop world destruction. A flying carpet. Groine the butler having a horrifying encounter with a camel spider. A kidnapping. A horrifying discovery of a phrophyse about two djin supposedly John and Phlippa . A volcanist with a girls face. The twins aunt. And much much more. P.B. Highly Recommended!!!

I have enjoyed reading the entire series of "The Children Of The Lamp" and following Nimrod, Phillipa, John and Groanin on all their adventures. I am sad to see that this is the last one in the series and I sincerely hope that P B Kerr will right something else along the same lines that is just as captivating as this series was. It is a must read for any one that likes adventure and fantasy mixed with a lot of true-to-life facts. Good job Mr. Kerr!
