    Great Reading

Being a funeral director myself, I enjoyed reading 'Grave Undertakings'. Must read you will find it not only a good read, but very interesting and right on target. I hope she writes some more interesting topics in our field. (1980 morticia)

A great inside look at the business

This book is one of the most perceptive, witty and sensitive portrayals of the funeral profession around. The author obviously cares about the families she sees but learned that alot of her colleagues didn't feel the same. Through her own initiative, hardwork, luck and looks, was able to break into a business that hadn't been exactly welcoming to women. Her portrayal of her childhood makes you want to cry but despite that she did alot with her life, more than most people could imagine. Great pictures too. Hope we see more from her. She has a website too.

A down and dirty autobiography, about a young woman's difficult rise, in the restricted world of funeral directors and morticians. All the obstacles that can possible arise, both mundane and ridiculous, are revealed.

Grave Undertakings: Playboy Model by Day, Mortician by Night - One Woman's True-Life Adventures

If you ever wanted to know the truth about the maneuverings and day-to-day lives in your local funeral home, this book is the one to buy. It also shows the difficulty that arises, from being a female (and an especially attractive one, I add), in a male-dominated world. Quite interesting!
