Grazin'/Highly Distinct

Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide - Stephen Thomas Erlewine
One Way's two-fer of the Friends of Distinction's Grazin' and Highly Distinct captures the swinging pop-soul group at their prime. This, in fact, contains their greatest hits -- "Grazing in the Grass" and "Going in Circles" -- along with a lot of other songs that sound like that, including a fair number of covers. They pretty much sound like the Fifth Dimension without the depth of material, which means they're pretty tied to their times, and the uneven songs emphasize their genericness. Still, as a nostalgia trip, this lush, MOR soul can be pretty fun, provided you're willing to take a lot of pleasant chaff with the gems.
