My friend has this book and I am going this weekend and pick up two, one for myself and one for a friend as a gift. If you like to bake, especially cookies, then it doesn't get any better than this book. The receipes are actually fairly simple and prep time is not as bad as you would think for these diverse and unique cookies. For those who are really good at decorating there are great kid things to do and for those of us that aren't so artsy, there are a ton of receipes that don't call for the colorful painting of the surface.

All in all a great book whether you are a new baker or a pro just looking for some new ideas.

There are hundreds of amazing recipes. Some recipes are easy, others are more difficult. There is a whole chapter for kids. I brought this book into work and ended up buying 3 more copies for coworkers.

This book is a major disappointment; it arrived while I was away for a few weeks, or I would have returned it. The recipes are mostly from food manufacturers and feature candies, and artificial butter spreads or egg products...I was hoping for old American recipes using natural ingredients. This book isn't it.

I purchased this book to use up the remaining amount on a gift card. I have made several of the recipes in this book (no where near all) and have been disappointed so far. I should have checked the recipes before purchasing, if I had seen all the references to name brand products (such as Crisco shortening and Hershey's chocolate) I would not have bought this book. It was obviously cobbled together by the parent company to sell their products. One recipe actually calls for Betty Crocker chocolate cake mix where it should have told one how to make the chocolate part from scratch. Also several of the recipes seem to be missing something, the first one would have tasted better and made a much nicer texture if it had had a cup of flower, I have never made chocolate chip cookies without flower, perhaps that was a typo. I hope the other recipes have better results.

I'm new to baking and found this book easy to follow. It has great photographs and easy to follow instructions. Tons of recipes I never imagined to exist and lots of helpful hints. I use it all the time.
