Editorial Reviews

Booknews
This travel planning companion provides detailed information about 53 national parks and monuments, including information about how to find the best picnic spots, avoid crowds, and which routes are the most scenic, as well as tips for getting the most out of short visits of few hours, or longer ones of several days. Each chapter begins with a section that introduces the reader to the park and its features. This is followed by facts about how to get there, admission fees, the area's climate, contact information, touring information and special activities, and nearby accommodations and dining. The book concludes with a suggested trips section that highlights parks that are close enough together to combine into an extended sight-seeing tour. Annotation c. Look at the Regional series for purchasing in e-book

This book is text only it does not have the photos or maps the introduction says it has in nook book format. I had purchased one of the regional series that are Great American Wilderness: Midwest or South West or South Ect. It's the same author same information but will cost you more to buy the series, but those books have the maps and photos in them. Don't get this version for the nook because it is missing information that should and is said to be in there. The regional books also have better context bookmarks programmed in. It may cost you more in the long run but it will be worth it.
