Over 160 stallions stood at Spendthrift through the years. More than 300 stakes winners were bred by Combs and Spendthrift Farm, including the likes of Mr. Prospector, Landaluce, Majestic Prince and countless others. A fast gallop through the history of Spendthrift Farm and it's colorful owner/founder Leslie Combs. Makes you feel like Marshall and Combs were having a friendly chat on the front porch of the 'big house' at Spendthrift, sipping sweet tea, and chatting about horses and history. Chock full of great pics, pedigree notes, interesting tidbits about the history of the world famous farm. A great book for the novice or horse racing enthusiast interested in the great farm. Well researched, an easy read, and marches on without being verbose. Author Marshall obviously has a love for the sport, horses, and history and chronicles a wealth of information into a tidy, easy to read book that keeps the reader entertained and well informed throughout.
