Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Jennifer Lehmann
Camille is excited to go to school today. She and her classmates will get to choose a special project! Some of her friends decide to build a kite, but Camille decides that planting a garden sounds like more fun. Then she gets to choose what seeds to plant and which pot she wants to plant them in. After the seeds have sprouted, the plants are moved to the garden. Finally the vegetables are ready. Camille gets to make the best decision yet: which yummy vegetable she wants to eat! Accompanied by detailed and interesting illustrations, Camille's story covers the process of making a variety of decisions. While the book doesn't give clear advice on how to choose, it does give several examples and discusses what to do when you can't have your first choice and the consequences of deciding too slowly. This book would be engaging enough for children to read on their own or for an adult to read aloud. Readers will enjoy the opportunity to consider Camille's decisions themselves and the chance to discuss decisions they have faced in the past. Reviewer: Jennifer Lehmann
