Great Love provides a rare glimpse into the life of a woman who does not fit society's idea of a mother of twelve and yet perhaps personifies a greater role. She actually becomes a true Christian serving the poor, modeling Christ in her every encounter. No obstacle deters her. Mary Jo's faith and prayer life sustain her. Uncomfortable reading at times whether it be a challenge to ourselves to do more for others or a revisiting of the causes and effects of a traumatic childhood, it stirs the heart and causes us to take a second look at our lives.
