Still more chapters are about a father and son deer hunt for the books, the best year for booners in the UP and much, much more. You won't want to miss the chapter about the Michigan hunter who has 31 bucks in state records, including a number of Boone and Crockett proportions.

Meet the Author

Deer hunting, and especially deer hunting in Michigan, is one of the author's passions. He enjoys writing about deer hunting almost as much as he does participating in the activity and he likes writing about other hunters' success on big bucks as much as his own. He's an expert interviewer, which enables him to draw important details about the hunt from successful hunters, so he can better tell their story. Smith's many years of experience as a deer hunter also helps him tell the stories of success contained in this series of books in the best way possible so that other hunters will get the most out of each great tale. Richard has written many books about deer hunting as well as plenty of magazine articles since he started as an outdoor writer in high school. He's also won numerous awards for his writing.
