Overview

The only book ever written about the popular treat, this MoonPie manifesto presents the sweet Southern snack in all its toothsome glory. Starting with a history of the MoonPie and its conception in 1917, MoonPie enthusiast and devotee Ron Dickson dishes up a hilarious, thoughtful, and downright silly study of the tasty tidbit and its great impact on the American South, the country, and the world.
Filled with Sam C. Rawls' ironic and expressive cartoons, the chapters range from studies of MoonPie etiquette and arts and crafts ideas to stories of spiritual enlightenment, romantic adventure, and media frenzy all brought about by the magic of the marshmallow-filled pastry. Recipes, entertaining ideas, and even tips on how to use MoonPies in rearing children and other wild animals are among the delicious and ridiculous nuggets of wisdom in this endearing tribute to the great MoonPie.
