    Fantastic British History Book

Loved this book! The short chapters made it a delight to read, bit by bit, each day. Hope Mr. Lacey writes a sequel--I'd buy it for sure.
I enjoyed all the little tidbits of British history--it was like new news because the author wrote about things you never see in other books. Great stories!

English history encapsulated in bite size chunks.

Robert Lacey has brilliantly presented a short history of England in an immensely readable format of short 2 - 5 page chapters covering some aspect of English history. It not only deals with well known individuals but some not so well known, but who had a great impact on the evolving culture of the nation and the world. It tells the tale stretching from 7000 BC to the present with a surprise ending.
