    Awesome book!

A wonderful, informative book. It opened my eyes to many things, especially about food, I was was not aware of. To follow this book and guidelines, you must be in a place of true conviction and dedication.

    Wonderful!

I found the book to be a true eye-opener. It makes you realize the damage we do to our bodies daily with the food we consume and gives ways to rectify it. Certain foods are the cause of many of our common ailments. As with any part of your spiritual walk, eating healthy begins with a will to please God. We are to present ourselves as a living sacrifice and in order to do that we must be clean, which begins with eating food that will aid in the process of cleasing and restoration. I loved the book, it's to the point and those who want to live longer and healthier will also.

    Some good and not-so-good advice

Some of the advice in this book seems to come from a borderline anorexic mentality. Omartian views the body as impure: it needs to be scrubbed, scoured, diluted and starved before it can be acceptable. I'm no MD, but her fasting recommendations appear to go beyond what is healthy. Her attitude in the book is judgmental and she stoops to stereotypes more than once (i.e., if you don't exercise, it's because you're too lazy to turn the TV off; the idea that you have a crazy, hectic life doesn't enter her thinking.) On the other hand, while much of her advice just isn't acheivable for many working people, there is a lot of it that is. I'm glad she went beyond the routine just eat sensibly and exercise regularly. There is some good information on getting back to eating food the way God created it and fasting (both to develop self-control and to enrich your prayer life). Despite the book's downfalls, I have been inspired. If you can get past an author's attitude and can employ common sense in what to take, I recommend this book

    Stormie is great!

Any book Stormie O'Martian writes is a favorite of mine. This lady is right on target and knows (and lives) what she is talking about. Keep on bringing them.
