As a dog enthusiast, new to the GSMD in particular, I found it very difficult to locate a good breed-specific book. Many are general-purpose books, 90% common content, and only 10% having anything to do with the breed (often written by someone clearly not knowledgeable to this breed).
This book has proven to be a pleasant surprise. The book -is- written specific to the breed by a knowledgeable author. The book is flush with quality photography. Except for the healthcare/veterinarian section, the entire book has at least one picture of a Swissy on each page. So it can work well as a coffee table book, too.
If you're a breeder, you'll appreciate that the pages are a heavy-stock supporting quality appearance. Inside the rear cover is a dedication page on the left (last page) and entries to the right for birth date, breeder's name, address, and registration number, along with vet and vaccination record spaces. Could be considered a valued keepsake to provide your 'puppy people' as they take their new loves home.
Overall, for it's purpose and intent, I highly recommend this book. I've seen none better specific to the GSMD (Greater Swiss Mountain Dog).
