Overview

Rebels With A Cause is an in-depth account of Green Day's 20-year journey from their scrappy high school band days to international stardom.

It's a punk-roots journey told through incisive interviews and first-hand accounts that expose as much about the music scene as the band members themselves!

From their 1994 major label debut album Dookie to the award-winning American Idiot, Green Day have now successfully taken the spirit of punk into the world of stadium-rock.

Written by Gillian G. Gaar, this intimate and perceptive band biography tells exactly how they did it and reveals what success has meant to these feted Californian champions of alternative rock.

Heres the first one. Its about a girl whos boyfriend had dyed. Here goes: My heart is breaking and i cant see through the pain... i dont know how do anything! Im having trouble finding my way... cuz i lost you yesterday! (Chorus): I never wanted to be without you! But im standing here without you! Your not by my si-i-ide. I never wanted you to be gone! But now you are gone! From my li-i-ife. (Chorus ended). It seems im walking through fire! Burning up my heart! There no way oouuttt..... (repeat chorus).. --------------- i know it was a little short, but our band sometimes writes short songs. ~ pokemom girl :p

Good story about green day but there are SO MANY TYPOS! The author often forgets spaces after periods and randomly indents without skipping a line. I bought this book thinking it would be professionaly written. This book is worth half the friggin money. if this in print im gonna laugh. Besides that this book takes you through green days early days as sweet children to the live album bullet in a bible. Unfortunately the author wrote this book before 21st century breakdown came out. OVERALL DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK IT IS PRETTY MUCH A WASTE OF MONEY IF YOU WANT TO LEARN ABOUT GREEN DAY WITHOUT SPENDING $12 THEN JUST LOOK THEM UP ON WIKIPEDIA

I love this book sence, it talks about the amazing journy, hardship, and struggle the band went through. I personaly love how the book talks about the band Sweet Children (what the band was called before Tre Cool (the drummer) & before the song Green day was envented.) Did you know that the song Green day was written when Billie Joe Armstrong (lead singer, guitarist) was high? The band members Mike Dirnt (bass player) & Tre Cool made fun of the song & wrote green day on shirts & on the drumms & the name just stuck. Billie Joe Armstrong hates the name.
