Overview

Big Brother Has Turned Green

The environmental movement has cultivated a warm and fuzzy public image, but behind the smiley-face rhetoric of "sustainability" and "conservation" lies a dark agenda. The Greens aim to regulate your behavior, downsize your lifestyle, and invade the most intimate aspects of your personal life.

In this stunning exposé, Steve Milloy unveils the authoritarian impulse underlying the Green crusade. Whether they're demanding that you turn down your thermostat, stop driving your car, or engage in some other senseless act of self-denial, the Greens are envisioning a grim future for you marked by endless privation.

Steamrolling nearly all opposition with its apocalyptic predictions of environmental doom, the Green movement has gained influence throughout American society-from schools and local planning boards to the biggest corporations in the country. And their plans are much more ambitious than you think, says Milloy. What the Greens really seek, with increasing success, is to dictate the very parameters of your daily life-where you can live, what transportation you can use, what you can eat, and even how many children you can have.

Citing the tactics and goals of Green groups as explained by their own activists and leaders, Green Hell demonstrates:

* How Green pressure campaigns threaten the safety of your home and your car, and public health overall
* Why the election of President Obama portends a giant leap forward for coercive Green policies
* Why Greens obstruct the use of all forms of energy-even the renewable sources they tout to the public
* How wealthy Green elites stand to profit fabulously from the restrictions andregulations they seek to impose on the rest of us
* How Green pressure campaigns are hamstringing the military and endangering our national security
* Why big business is not only knuckling under to the Greens, but is aggressively promoting the green agenda to the detriment of its own stockholders
* What you can do to help stop the great Green machine

A one-of-a-kind, comprehensive takedown of the entire environmental movement, Green Hell will open your eyes to a looming threat to our economy, our civil liberties, and the entire American way of life.

What People Are Saying

Dick Morris
"Regardless of whether you believe global warming is a fraud, the fact is that the current depression, the past spike in oil prices, and the coming technology of electric cars are all going to solve whatever problem exists. Liberals want to use climate change as an excuse to take over the economy and regulate everything and this book exposes their plans."--(Dick Morris, FOX News commentator and former political consultant to Bill Clinton)
Fred Barnes
"Green Hell explains why Americans can't afford to fall for Al Gore's 'the debate is over' line on global warming. While we're all for the environment, Green Hell explains why we need to oppose the environmentalists."--(Fred Barnes, Executive Editor, the Weekly Standard)
Larry Kudlow
"Free market capitalism is still the best path to prosperity. Green Hell is a must-read for anyone who wants to keep America on that path and away from Soviet-style command-and-control environmentalism."--(Larry Kudlow, Host, CNBC's The Kudlow Report)
Steve Forbes
"Green Hell is the 'inconvenient truth' on extremist, growth-killing environmentalism. A must-read for those interested in keeping America free and prosperous."--(Steve Forbes, President and Chief Executive Officer of Forbes)
Vaclav Klaus
"This book describes why the world can't afford to fall for global warming alarmism and environmental hysteria. Steve Milloy shows how to avoid the environmentalists' vision of our future."--(Vaclav Klaus, President of the European Union and President of the Czech Republic)

    more from this reviewer

Very informative book, A "should" read.

Everyone interested in the so-called "Green" Movement should read this book before they automatically jump on the Al Gore gravy train. This book shows how you can be responsible to your environment, without going overboard and killing off the human race in the process, or at very least without taxing yourself out of a job and ability to pay everyday expenses (electric bill, gas, *gasp* trash pickup). I especially recommend this book for parents with children in K-6 Grades, as at that time it is very important not to stand idle while your kids are being brainwashed by the school systems who are eating out of liberal environmentalists' hands.

Green Hell well worth the read

This book was a very enlightening account of how the "global warming" crowd attempts to bamboozle the general public. Research sources were meticulous and well indicated. It should be required reading for every member of Congress and the Administration.

RESEARCH THIS BOOK'S AUTHOR BEFORE YOU BUY!

You should probably research the author's background before reading his "research". Steve Milloy has a B.A. in natural science, a former lobbyist for...well you'll see, and a Fox News commentator! Compare Steve's opinions to the most respected scientists in the world. He is a complete fraud and I can't even beleive this book was published.

Green Hell on earth - and what you can do to fight back!

Green Hell, while a touch sluggish in a couple of places is overall an excellent, must but quick read with 36 pages of documenting references. It may even help some borderline "greens" understand the overall motives behind the various green movements and let them make much more educated decisions as it relates to everything green. For the rest of us non-fanatical types, it helps explain the overall uneasy felling we get when hearing the massive amount of unsubstantiated green hype thrown at us on a daily basis-and provides guidance on how to fight back!

Do you have "irrational fears of dihydrogen monoxide"? If so, these fears provide yet more reasons to read Green Hell.

With the above being stated, I should note that I am very clearly for reasonable green-but the overall green being served up and force-fed to us isn't reasonable when viewed through the dual lens of knowledge and logic.

If my endorsement doesn't sway you to read Green Hell, consider this...

You would be hard pressed to find a more overall green group of countries than the European Union, yet Vaclav Klaus, President of the European Union has this to say about Green Hell:

"This book describes why the world can't afford to fall for global warming alarmism and environmental hysteria."

    Additional...

U.S. Climate Action Partnership (USCAP) is a coalition of twenty-six U.S. and foreign companies and five green activist groups that lobbies for global warming regulation. From Green Hell: "Perhaps the best way to describe the USCAP's corporate members is by Lenin's old term for Western supporters of communism: "useful idiots.""

An excerpt from Green Hell, chapter 9:

    "A Question of Judgment

Green organizations don't have sufficient power on their own to bring about economy-crippling global warming regulation, but with the help of corporate lobbyists, anything is possible. So what does the USCAP phenomenon mean to you and your investments?

    A lot.

Investment is largely a matter of trust and confidence. That is, do you trust the CEO's ability to grow the company and make your investment profitable? I don't know about you, but CEOs who lobby against their own company's products and earnings-without providing any sort of justification-inspire little confidence in me. For example, in response to a question from the Free Enterprise Action Fund, Caterpillar CEO James Owens admitted that his company had not conducted a cost-benefit analysis before joining USCAP to lobby for global warming regulations.22 What are you as an investor to make of a CEO who joins a group lobbying against some of his own biggest customers without even taking the time to think the action through?"
