Overview

Superstar writer Geoff Johns (GREEN LANTERN: SINESTRO CORPS WAR, THE FLASH, ACTION COMICS, JSA) unleashes a spectrum of adventure in this tale, which sees an all-new, all-evil Red Lantern Corps let loose on the galaxy!

As a prelude to the highly anticipated 2009 GREEN LANTERN storyline “The Blackest Night,” this collection sets up the events that Geoff Johns has been leading to since he relaunched the Green Lantern franchise in 2006!

Plagued by an age-old prophecy from a prison planet on the far side of the galaxy, Green Lantern Hal Jordan searches for answers about the fate of his Green Lantern Corps. But when a primal being named Atrocitus emerges from that hell planet, he leads a Red Lantern Corps against Jordan and his brethren in a campaign to spread rage across the cosmos.

    Best Prelude for Blackest Nights

This is another prelude for Blackest Nights. Just like the others it doesn’t tell you which number it is in the series. Besides that, it’s my favorite prelude. The red lanterns are one of my favorite lanterns and this graphic novel is about the ride of the red lanterns. The story is great and the new characters are amusing and vibrant. The artwork is great as well and really colorful. I can’t wait to read the other preludes in the series.

    prelude to the Blackest Night!!

Johns has done it once again. Not only did he bring back Hal Jordan from the purgatory he was sent to but really defined what it means to be a Green Lantern. In this Story, The Red Lanterns are on the rise full of rage but also shows the emergence of the Blue Lanterns. It explains who they are and why they are important. Also, it reveals who their "guardians" are. I won't give anything away but if your a fan of Green Lantern and The DC universe, then Rage of the Red Lanterns is for you!

    The more Lanterns the better!!!

The next chapter in Geoff Johns' epic Green Lantern story hits the nail on the head and ramps the action, violence, and intrigue up to the next level. Death, betrayal, fights, sub-plots, new charcaters, and more are just a part of what makes this book great. The art by Shane Davis, Mike McKone, and Ivan Reis is fantastic. Great stuff.
