Holly Greenwood loves being outdoors, the color green, and -- of course -- princesses! She plays in Peterson Park almost every day. There's a jungle gym, pretty flowers, and even a special bluebird. It's her very own green kingdom!

But then the mayor decides to sell the park and put buildings there instead. Holly can't let that happen! Can this princess save the day?

Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Deanna D'Antonio
Green Princess Saves the Day is one in a series of "Perfectly Princess" chapter books aimed at girls ages seven and up. Readers are introduced to Holly Greenwood and her friends, who face the dilemma of saving their beloved park from being converted into a shopping mall. With perseverance, ingenuity, a little adult assistance, the Eastern bluebird of Maple Grove and, of course, princess power! the kids triumph and the park is saved. Although the themes of environmental stewardship, persistence, community and the sharing of ideas are all noteworthy, all but the most ardent fans of princess power! may find the story a bit too formulaic and predictable ... and a little bland. The book includes a princess activity at the end. Girls are given instructions for recreating Holly's princess flower power headband—the magical modern diadem Holly uses to meditate, focus and channel that princess power! Reviewer: Deanna D'Antonio
