Overview

A new world means a world of trouble...

The Paragon Engine, a machine that can unlock portals to any dimension throughout the universe, is the most powerful and dangerous invention in Templar history-and the Grey Griffins have just been pulled through it. After they are transported through the engine, Max, Ernie, Natalia, and Harley have no idea what to expect. There could be vicious monsters or terrifying creatures lurking around every corner. But soon, they discover that this new world looks just like theirs. Except there is one big difference: everything that went wrong in their world never happened and the Templar rule society. Is this world truly perfect? Or should the Griffins risk their lives to find a way back home? Things get even more complicated when they learn that their arch enemy, Otto Von Strife, is also in this world-and he has the power to destroy everything.

In this final book of the Clockwork Chronicles trilogy, the Grey Griffins face questions about destiny, personal choice, and what courage really means-all while finding a way to destroy Von Strife, his evil half-fairies, and his legion of killer clockworks.

Meet the Author

Derek Benz and J.S. Lewis have been friends since they could remember. They grew up sharing birthday parties, Saturday morning cartoons, comic books and baseball cards. Together the boys spent much of their childhood on Derek's family farm in Iowa, exploring the sprawling woodlands nearby, which they secretly suspected was enchanted. This inspired Derek and Jon to create the first Grey Griffins trilogy: The Revenge of the Shadow King, The Rise of the Black Wolf and The Fall of the Templar.

Derek Benz lives in New Jersey with his wife and son.

J.S. Lewis lives in Arizona with his wife and three daughters.

The book stunned me and knitted me into the pages. I really liked the ending quite well...I will tell what I think like and dislike about this book. I think the writer knew what he was writing about. It really surptised me. A very interesting novel. The more I read the more I understand the entire story. I wish more than this book I wish that he could write more books don't you think? I liked everything in the story but that is not all I have to say... I do like the end as I said before. In the first and second book were cliff hangers which put the puzzle together. I really had no dislikes of this novel. I really need to tell you something... if you want to read this book go ahead but if your not convinced that is fine by me. If you want to ask questions go ahead I'll keep talking. Honestly I do need ideas and another book another time will you and myself the true meaning of this novel. I hope you have many questions as you read and I wish your questions to be an answer. I really mean it! Have a happy reading!

Reviewed by Karen P. for Readers Favorite "The Paragon Prison" is Book 3 of the "Grey Griffins: The Clockwork Chronicles". It is full of adventure from the first to the last page and surely, children 8 years and up will be eager to read and to envision themselves as part of the story. In this episode, the Grey Griffins have been transported to a parallel universe. They are duplicates of Grey Griffins who disappeared on an adventure from Earth Beta. The new planet seems to be a paradise and the Griffins must determine to risk their own demise or to remain on the planet where they are secure in the embraces of their families and friends. The decision is made for them is the form of their arch enemy Otto VonStrife who wants to obliterate Earth Alpha, Earth Beta and any other universes which might exist. VonStrife is angry at the loss of his daughter and he uses the various Clockwork mechanisms to try to sabotage any good done by the Grey Griffins. There are threats galore in the form of Juggernauts, Changelings, Drones, Dreadnaughts and undersea monsters. Benz and Lewis skillfully weave in one adventure after another as they also tend to the emotional needs of their characters. Whether it is Max, Harley, Natalie or Ernie, each reader will adopt a favorite and remain loyal until the last adventure unfolds. I had not read the first two books in the series but was easily able to follow the characters and to cheer for the children to accomplish each and every goal.

This book is so amazing. If you are looking at reviews to see if this is a good book, than I would definetly reccomend it to those people. But I would probobly read the series first. The firs is the brimestone key the second is the relic hunters and the third is the paragon prison (this one). This book is about 4 people named Ernie Tweeny, Grayson Maxamillian Sumner (also knowwn as Max), Natalia Romvanov, and Harley Einstien. These 4 are sucked into a portal called the parago engine by accident and taken to another world. There are 2 worlds. 1. World alpha (the world we are in now) and 2. World beta. When the four go through the portal by acciden the end up in world beta. (The portal dissaperes after they go through it) Both worlds have the same people but have different ways of living. You will see when you read the book. But they are trying to reactivate (build) another paragon engine so they can get back to world alpha. Your welcome for the little sneak peek of the book. I would definitly reccomend this for ages 8+ just because it gets REALLY INTENSE SOMETIMES. Please write a review if you liked this book. -JJetpack

(I modified the original so if you read it before it changed go read it again.) What if our heroes hadn't been so lucky in Tartarus? What if they faced countless attacks? Then somehow made it to the other end of Tartarus to fight Marcus. I'm here to show you that ending. Emily's p.o.v. --- Marcus charged at Sam. Even with that square of ambrosia Sam still wasn't in fighting shape. His left leg was sliced open and his one arm was broken, leaving him with one sword arm. Sam countered his first swing, but not his second. He landed a blow right to Sam's side. Sam collapsed clutching his side with his bad arm. He still tried to hold up his sword, but Marcus knocked it out of his hand. He kicked Sam onto his back. I couldn't stand there and watch I tried to rush forward and strike Marcus down, but Julia and Alexandra restrained me. "If you try to interfere you'll die too!" Julia told me. Wait she said die too. She knew Sam was about to die. Marcus raised his sword over Sam and stabbed him straight through his stomach. "NOOO!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. I managed to break free from my friends hold and charged Marcus. I knew that we weren't allowed to interfere with their battle, but it was over. I drew my dagger and stabbed Marcus in the back. He fell to the ground. I wanted to kill him while he was on the ground defenseless. "I've got a better idea." Reese said. She broke Marcus's arms. Max looked terrified tht she had just done that. "He deserves this." Cary seemed to force it out. Julia was on the verge of tears. I knew that she had a thing for Sam and Marcus. Seeing both of them like this must've hurt her. I turned to see that Sam's body was gone. "Where did....." Kayla seemed speechless. We searched Marcus's bag and discovered the bag of winds. We used it to escape Tartarus and it led us back into the throne room of Hades. "Lord Hades...." Alexandra started to tell him about Sam, but couldn't form the words. "Save it girl. I already know." He waved his hands and a ghost formed in front of us. He had curly black hair, warm eyes, and a friendly smile. It was... "Sam..." I started to cry. He tried to put his hand on my face but it went right through. "Hey you're all safe. That's the main thing." Jose stepped up. "I lost a friend today. You'll be remembered." "Yeah," Shawn started, "we'll tell our children." I wiped the tears from my eyes. "Yes, we'll tell them the story. The story of Samuel Knight." Sam looked like he was thinking about it. "I like it. Hey maybe in a few centuries I'll be a legend. The Legend of Samuel Knight. It has a nice ring to it," Even in death he was still the same guy I had fallen in love with all those years ago. He looked at me. "I'll always love you. Remember that." I nodded, "You all were such great friends. I hope I'll see you in Elysium when the time comes." "What about Marcus?" Julia asked. "I had my dad spare him. He's trying for rebirth. I'll see you guys later hopefully not for a long time. Live your lives to the fullest." He vanished and Hades took us back up to the mortal world. We quickly told everyone our story. I told them all to never forget the legend. The Legend of Samuel Knight. --- Roll credits. So sad. Questions are going to be at Samuel Knight res. 1. Stop by and ask me something. - SK

This is in Jack's not Jack P.'s p.o.v.••• We soared into the clouds out of South Carolina as the Sun was directly over us. It casted beautiful shadows across the clouds while we flew over them. We all gathered around Mere because the was going to iris message someone. "Who are you calling?" Sophie asked. "Jack." She answered. "I am right here." I said slightly confused. "No, another Jack. Son of Posiedon." She explained. We flew below the clouds to where it was raining and she tossed a drachma into a particularly thick rain cloud. Soon an image appeared. It was of a dark haired boy with olive skin with scars on his arm that reminded me of drakons claw and teeth marks. It took him a little while to realize what was happening but we called out to him after a bit. "Hey!" Meredith shouted. "Woah!" He exclaimed as he turned to see our group. "You've got alot of friends Mere." He said. "Lemme introduce you," she said." This is Sophie, Garrette, Riley, Remi, Jordan, and Jack." "Hey, name twins. Up top!" He exclaimed holding up his hand. I air fived him to not disrupt the connection. "So why'd ya call me?" He asked. "I have a little offer to make you." Mere said. "Where are you right now?" "Somewhere on the coast of Georgia." He answered. "Perfect!" Mere said. "We'll be there soon. We'll explain everything." "Ok." He said skeptically. Mere waved her hand over the image. "So what's this offer you've got for him and how did you meet him?" Jordan asked. She told us about her dream and her ideas and final plans. "Sounds great." Riley said.•• I am soooooo sorry this part is extremely short. I'll post soon, I've been super busy. Next part at next result. ~ Cat
