Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Sylvia Firth
This is the seventh title in the "Blink of an Eye: Superfast Animals" series. Briefly on two-page spreads, the text and wonderfully action-packed color photos provide youngsters with an excellent introduction to greyhounds. Readers learn about their tremendous speed, their history and anatomy, their training for racing, and their need for plenty of exercise once they have been adopted as family pets. Page twenty-two gives a clear explanation of this breed's ability to run by illustrating how all the body parts are perfectly suited for great speed. Also included are a glossary, an index, and a brief bibliography. The publisher's web site is listed as a source for further information about greyhounds. While the book is primarily for young children, older ones with reading difficulties will find this book both attractive and interesting. If there is a need for material on dogs, consider buying this selection for the collection. Reviewer: Sylvia Firth
