    Good book..but needed an editor

I loved the plot and characters in this book. It was well thought out and I loved the way her characters interacted with each other. All misunderstanding...and there were naturally a lot due to the different cultures...were resolved fairly quickly because Lisa and Grim talked them out soon after they happened. (I liked that fact...I have never enjoyed an author dragging misunderstandings out to carry a storyline.)

Lisa was a strong woman who stood up for herself and those she cared about without doing dumb thing to endanger herself or others. She is my favorite type of herorine. She was smart and loving while protecting those around her, but knowing her limits. (Yes, I hate TSTL characters.) Grim was imposing and proctective, but he realized when he was becoming domineering and hurtful, and he fixed his mistakes soon after he realized he made them and my favorite...he appologized.

The plot against Grim and his family was great, and the world building was well done. I had trouble puttung this book down, I needed to find out what would happen next.

My only problem with this book and the reason I didn't give it five stars was the editing. This book was difficult to read. It was written in present tense. It took me a few chapters before I could ignore seeing "is" instead of "was". Also, I am pretty sure spellcheck was used a lot which might have cause some of the to,too, two problems in this story.

I would recommend this book, and look forward to others by this author. I think with a good editor further books will be outstanding.

    Loved the story

I agree with the other reviewer, about the way the writer spoke.... but i got used to it and actually realy liked the story. This would be a great series, if the author decided to right them. I would strongley sugest an editor and spell check. But even with my negative coments, I would still reccomend the book because the story like was great.

    Really good

    Jagkaren.
Really good, great story line. 297 pages. I agree, it needs proof reading. Heck, it wouldn't take much to get someone to check for errors before publishing.

    Great story. Read book 1.5

I gave Five stars because this story was good enough to make me want to work through all of the errors, which are numerous. I also saw on kindle there is already a 1.5 book a Grim Holiday the editing for that was wonderful in comparison.

I fell as though I'm beating a dead horse by saying the author desperately needs a good beta reader and editor. (Did you get what I did here? Fell instead of feel. THIS is what I'm talking about peoples!) Unfortunately the book was sprinkled with incorrect word usage and bad grammar. The fact that it was written in the present tense also pulled me from the storyline several times.

As to the storyline itself...I'll admit to rolling my eyes a couple of times at the beginning with how quickly Lisa falls for Grim. HOWEVER, I have to say that even with everything else pulling me away from the story (bad grammar, present tense, etc.), I was completely engrossed in the story and had a hard time putting it down. The world-building was complete and the characters were fleshed out. If you'll pardon the pun. Grim and Lisa were extremely likable and I was pulled in by several secondary characters as well.

I gave this story 3 stars strictly for the story itself. The storyline pulls the technicalities of writing from a 1 star. I sincerely hope the author takes this as the positive criticism it is meant to be. I would hate to see an undeniably talented author suffer a lack of success due to minor issues.

    Excellent

Really, really enjoyed this book. The other reviewers were correct about the strange present tense and other errors, but after a few pages the characters and strong story overcame the negatives for me. This book was worth every penny and I highly recommend it! I went ahead and purchased the other books in this series and is happy to report that they are much better edited. This is now one of my favorite authors and I am looking forward to what's to come.

Loved it! But editing errors are really bad.

This book was very entertaining. I loved how the author made the women strong with backbone unlike alot of authors who too frequently write about weak female characters. Which I dont enjoy at all. I would recommend this book to others. At almost 300 pages the book is a good length filled with endearing secondary characters, adventure, romance, as well as mystery. Now, with all that said, my only gripe with this book is the EDITING ERRORS. Which were VERY frequent and constant throughtout the ENTIRE BOOK. Mispelled names, which could be confusing, AND missing words that made sentences not flow. All in all I found the errors to be distractingly annoying. If it had been a few here And there I would have mentally corrected them and moved on but because they were so constant, they became a distraction. I think ebook writers and publishers have to do better with the editing because I see this continual bad editing all to frequently and this is why I gave this book 3 stars instead of 4.

The last thing that Lisa Millar expects when she visits her husbands grave is to be kidnapped…by aliens. Taken abroad that ship Lisa is expected to be brought back to their home and married to one of their males; however, she iot entirely unattached, she has two little girls who she refuses to leave behind. Even if she has to make a deal with the fearsome and scarred male to get them. King Grim Vasteri never expected to get a note, even though he is King, his scarred face disgusts the rare females on his planet. But Lisa and her girls are a gift to him and never plans on letting anyone hurt them, or let them go…

I read far too many books where abduction is sexy, knowing my luck if I ever do get abducted by aliens they won’t be the sexy, tender warrior type like Grim, but rather the slimy green kind with ten eyes and suckers on their tentacles. But, in my dreams my ideal alien husband is a lot like Grim, strong, fierce, protective, loving and hung like a horse. Not a drop of slime in sight.

I really enjoyed this book, it was very much on the cheesy side of sci-fi, with an improbable romance and i-love-yous spouted out seemingly 10 minutes after first contact. But, it was an incredibly sweet story with a emotionally as well as physically scarred hero getting a little but of healing through the power of luuurve. What made is even sweeter was that it wasn’t just romantic love, Grim could have gone up and won the Alien Step Dad of the Year award, watching him bond with Lisa’s little girls was adorable.

There was also a mystery and happenings in the alien universe going on in the background, this was especially true toward the latter half of the book and although it was great as it set stories up for (hopefully!) another book, I did find that it dragged a bit. But I did really enjoy the romance between Grim and Lisa, it was at times funny, touching and of course sexy.

A good read, especially if, like me, you have slightly exotic fantasies of being abducted and ravished by a hot horny alien, but setting aside the alien thing, it was a really nice love story and I can’t wait to read the next in the series.

    Good read, but with reservations

Good characters, interesting plot; overall, an enjoyable read.

However, the book needed a proofreader. It suffered from sloppy editing - wrong words, missing verbs, misspelling, confused tenses, sloppy punctuation, run-on sentences, sentence fragments, obvious changes in narration with incomplete corrections, etc.

This is a talented and creative author who needs to better master the tools of his/her craft. I would have rated this five stars, otherwise.

Please write more, but get a proofreader.

This book was really really good. I would have given it 5 stars except there were quite a few grammar mistakes and misspells going on in it. I had a hard time putting this down once I started to read it. It has everything I love in a book...a believable plot and lots and lots of action. Good romance but something they have to work for and not just taken for granted. I, too, have to agree with another rating above about being in the dark about Wray's and Kim's story. I felt it really should have had a prologue just giving a bit about Wray and Kim before this story began.
I am definitely looking forward to Wray's book...I truly hope the next one has a lot less grammar and misspells, although even if it does...I will buy it as I know it will be a great read! Highly recommend
