I love how they make it interactive for easy access to the stories! I became interested in fairy tales after reading the Sisters Grimm and this is perfect because it has every big shot fairy tale I've ever heard of! I recommend this to anyone and everyone :)

True the Grimm fairy tales are, for a lack of a better word and no pun intended, grim. I found the stories quite enjoyable and not just the Grimm fairy tales but the others as well. This is definitely a fun read and shows just how sugar coated Disney made their movies.

This was good, worth getting, and easy to navigate. But it had a glitch where it would stay on the same page but I couldn't shut my nook off. I repetedly hit off, but it took a while. It stopped but still.

I bought this book some time ago and am just now getting around to reading it. Much to my surprise, I can only find the fairy tales-- Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, etc. are all completely missing! The item description says that they should still be there, and when I open the book in the Nook app on my iPad, there they are, but on my first-generation Nook, all I have are Grimm's. :( I seem to remember seeing the "Active Table of Contents" once upon a time (haha), but I've been searching everywhere and can't locate it anymore. Glad I didn't pay much for this and that the other books are all in the public domain if I choose to read them later.

All the favorites are in this book! This book is good for older kids as the "old" language they use is hard for smaller children to stay interested.

If you remember these beloved stories when you were a child, then these fairy tales are a wonderful way to get away with your own imagination. I used to watch some of these tales on tv, but never actually read the books. Now I am glad to own this collection for my own library and enjoy many hours of pleasure reading. Where can you get so many classic stories for 99 Cents? I own other collections from B&N; it's very economical. Read this collection and bring back the child in you!

Overview
Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, Hansel and Gretel, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White and more -- so many of our most beloved fairy tales are based upon the stories first documented by the Brothers Grimm as they collected German folklore, providing the seeds for countless retellings including such recent films as "Red Riding Hood," "Hoodwinked," "Shrek," and a slew of Disney films from 1938's "Snow White" to 2010's "Tangled."Here more than 200 of their tales, translated by Margaret Hunt, are beautifully formatted with 25 classic illustrations, along with a collection of classic fantasy stories that takes us through Wonderland, Neverland, Oz, ...
