Sienna Diaz is everyone's favorite "fat" funny lady. The movie studio executives can't explain it, but her films are out-grossing all the fit and trim headliners and Hollywood's most beautiful elite. The simple truth is, everyone loves plus-sized Sienna.

Sienna Diaz is everyone's favorite "fat" funny lady. The movie studio executives can't explain it, but her films are out-grossing all the fit and trim headliners and Hollywood's most beautiful elite. The simple truth is, everyone loves plus-sized Sienna.

But she has a problem, she can't read maps and her sense of direction is almost as bad as her comedic timing is stellar. Therefore, when Sienna's latest starring role takes her to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park she finds herself continually lost while trying to navigate the backroads of Green Valley, Tennessee. Much to her consternation, Sienna's most frequent savior is a ridiculously handsome, charming, and cheeky Park Ranger by the name of Jethro Winston.

Sienna is accustomed to high levels of man-handsome, so it's not Jethro's chiseled features or his perfect physique that make Sienna stutter. It's his southern charm. And gentlemanly manners. And habit of looking at her too long and too often.

Sienna has successfully navigated the labyrinth of Hollywood heart-throbs. But can she traverse the tenuous trails of Tennessee without losing her head? Or worse, her heart?

I just LOVED Jethro! His story of making a conscious decision to change bad habits, owning his bad decisions and walking the talk make him my all time favorite hero!!! It was worth reading this book for him all alone. Sienna, she caused me to think outside of the box and I thoroughly enjoyed how brave and smart she was to grab hold of a good, kinda don't man because she wanted and needed him not because it was expected of her. Brilliant book!!!

This was so extremely witty and entertaining to read. Such wonderful, endearing characters mixed with a great story. I loved it so, so much! I had so much fun while reading this. I was seriously smiling the majority of the time. By 10% I was totally in love with Sienna, I have a serious girl crush on her. Such a strong woman, a wonderfully well written character. I totally got her! I love how she just owned who she was. And Jethro, oh man! He was so sweet and sincere but didn't always feel deserving which could be a little heartbreaking so watching them come together and grow was just really wonderful. They're first meeting had me grinning like a crazy person and I adored their interactions. There is a wonderful, flirty slow burn happening that really pulls you in to the sincerity of Jethro and Sienna's relationship, I loved it. The Winston family is pretty amazing. They have the best interactions. Funny and caring and full of teasing, sometimes fighting but it's all honest and real and comes from a place of love. I love their dynamic. All of the sibling bonding moments completely tugged at my heartstrings. It was really great getting to see more of Billy and the foreshadowing that was set up. I am excited for his story. And Cletus. Crazy and funny and sincere and blunt, Cletus is quite the character. He fascinates me! I really am just so in love with this story. I kind of feel like a sap because it just made me so happy and had me smiling so big. It was incredibly well written with a great pace and all these awesome details throughout. I loved Truth or Beard, the first book in the series, I really did BUT this right here, Grin and Beard It, I LOVED more! Amazing read!

Grin and Beard It by Penny Reid is the second book in her Winston Brothers series. Yet another completely wonderful insight into the lives of these hot as hell manly men in the mountains of Tennessee. Good Lord they are all swoon-worthy, Jethro's book is absolutely no disappointment, it exceeded expectations in fact. The beauty of this is it isn't JUST Jethro and Sienna's story, we get so much of the other brothers and peripheral characters, the scene setting is so rich and visual but NOT overdone. Between Cletus and his quirks, Billy and his grudge and Roscoe and his impish innocence... I mean, how do you pick a favorite? Well, you don't, at least, I don't, I claim them all. EVERY SINGLE ONE! The story flows smoothly, never rushed, never lagging, it's told more like you are there observing and are part of it all. I love Penny's writing style and this book was just as fabulous as all the others. Again, I claim no favorite, I claim all.

Not a romantic funny story. Very disappointed but I can say this was my first book by this author and my last. There was no real story, no real couple growth and not love scenes.

Favorite Quotes: I looked as his uniform again. It was green and not blue. I shrugged, not caring what kind of official he was just as long as he helped me get out of this Twilight Zone episode before the banjo music started to play and the flannel-wearing bloodhounds arrived. Cletus had been known to sell our more embarrassing pictures on stock photo sights. Whereas, my youngest brother, Roscoe, would make them into photo calendars and gift them at Christmas. Don't clutch your pearls at me, big brother. Look at her, for hootenanny's sake. She's got the hots for your ugly face, Lord help her. And I know you've been thinking about her, judging by how long you took in the bathroom this morning. I would want forever with you... or at least a shot at it. You two can't stop looking at each other, and she blushes like a pole-dancing virgin every time your eyes meet. My gaze cut to hers - to this gorgeous, clever, strong woman... I might not ever truly deserve her, but I would work every day to be a man who did. Because when I'm with you, I feel like I'm both flying and falling. My Review: Every review I have written for Penny Reid essentially says the same thing. I adore Penny Reid, I exuberantly worship at her altar, she is divine, she is highly skilled, she is extremely witty and clever, she is nothing short of spectacular. Penny Reid is a GENIUS - yes - in shouty caps! And every single time I read a Penny Reid book, I want to stop time and ONLY read and savor Penny Reid books for the rest of my days. Her characters are well drawn, fully formed; and several steps beyond merely quirky as they are odd yet adorable, flawed, complex, smart, hard working, riotously amusing, tortured, totally endearing, and irresistibly lovable. I smirk, snort and bark aloud as I read her smartly written, highly humorous, totally addicting, emotive, heart squeezing, deliciously steamy, and unfailingly entertaining tales. More please!

Jethro was amazingly sweet throughout this tale. He was hard headed at time but only had the best intentions in mind. Sienna is an amazingly strong and independent character. Mix the two and we have instant chemistry. A story filled with passion, chemistry, humor and love. Cletus had a bigger role in this tale. I loved getting a peak at his personality. Can't wait for his story!

It’s official. I’m in love with the Winston brothers. Like so crazy, madly, deeply in love I’d be willing to go full-on Sister Wives for them. I’m not exactly sure how I went from reading a sweet Rom-Com to considering polygamy, but I blame Penny Reid. Damn her and her ridiculously talented mind, the magnetic and quirky characters she creates, and her clever humor. These attributes are on full display in Grin and Beard It, and it’s all kinds of awesome. Jethro Winston is the oldest of the six Winston brothers and a reformed bad boy. He’s atoned for his past mistakes and is now living on the straight and narrow path as a wildlife park ranger in Tennessee. He’s all about work and family these days. Jethro is straightforward, strong but gentle, and hot as all get out. Sienna Diaz is America’s Sweetheart—an Academy Award-winning actress known for both writing and starring in hit comedies. In an industry where thin is in and Latinas aren’t leading ladies, Sienna’s success defies all limitations. She’s a funny, plus size woman who is comfortable in her own skin, and her self-esteem makes her even sexier. Sienna arrives in Jethro’s small Tennessee town to film her latest movie, and he comes to her rescue when she gets lost driving through the mountains. Jethro is immediately smitten, and they quickly begin a fun flirtation that turns into some seriously intense chemistry. On a side note, shout out to Penny Reid for creating a witty, intelligent heroine who is a minority, and for successfully avoiding Latina stereotypes. I loved that Sienna’s ethnicity is part of her, but isn’t the main aspect of her character. Every good romance needs conflict, and the prospect of Hollywood’s golden girl getting involved with a backwoods tree-hugger with a shady past provides the perfect opportunity for tension. For awhile I was worried I’d need to make room on my “Save the Drama for Your Mama” bookshelf, but there’s no extended melodrama here, and I wasn’t at all frustrated by the way problems are resolved. Cletus, Jethro’s odd yet surprisingly insightful and endearing brother, is a definite scene stealer. He has the best one-liners, and I couldn’t get enough of him. With Penny Reid’s perfect comedic flair and infectious banter, this book had me laughing out loud more times than I can count. It’s a winning romance that’s sizzling and charming—perfect if you’re looking for lighthearted entertainment. Grin and Beard It is the second book in the Winston Brothers series, but can be read as a standalone.
