This book is an entertaining, simple story about a plump groundhog preparing for the annual Groundhog Day parade in his hometown. As 'Ed' ponders what to wear for the big event, he considers some of his past outrageous costumes. His amusing past choices will certainly elicit giggles and spark imaginations. After all, Ed is engaging in dress-up play. Another nice feature of the book is that Tina Leigh's illustrations beautifully depict a quaint Connecticut village on a cold February day. The children along the parade route are bundled up and sipping hot chocolate. The parade route itself is lined with interesting specialty shops. This book is a good choice for any day, but should be your first choice for Groundhog Day.Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Groundhog Day for Essex Ed is Tina Leigh's debut children's book. Not only is she the author, she illustrated AND published this book herself. The story is about Essex Ed, the star of the Essex, Connecticut's groundhog day parade, and how he chooses what outfit he will wear for the parade. A great read for any child and parent. Printed on heavy paper and colorfully illustrated, well worth every penny! I highly recommend this book! Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
