If you are serious about gardening with orchids, this eBook has lots of facts and tips. It covers anatomy, history, care, and how to shop for them. Quite a bit is covered. The book has a pleasant, almost conversational style in some parts, but other parts are heavily geared more in nature and geared more toward the serious gardener or nature-lover. If you already garden with orchids, this book will be a refresher. If not, this book will serve more as a quick reference. If you have read the "Teach Yourself" series, this book follows along that same type of style.

I thought I would find caring for orchids too daunting, but after grabbing this book I found my fears being transformed into confidence. I am already very pleased with what I have learned so far and can't wait to put it into practice. This book is a great collection of tips and insights and I've got quite a bit more to learn from it.

I got an orchid for Christmas and was looking for some insight into keeping it alive. This book is so full of information about the history, different kinds of orchids, how to care for many different kinds, and how to propagate them. It even tells you what to look for in the way of diseases. I was amazed find so much in a small book. Now I want to start looking for the different kinds. I never knew orchids could be so interesting.

I received a beautiful orchid for my birthday and have always wanted to attempt to grow some orchids, so I purchased this book to help me out. The book is quite interesting reading, including such things as the history of the orchid. Every detail including such as what type of orchid to get to how to care for them, is included in this well written book. I especially loved the fun facts about orchids and the question and answer section at the end of the book.

I adore flowers - especially when I can grow my own. But I have heard how difficult it is to grow orchids for ages so I was hesitant to get this book. However, once I read the table of contents, the temptation was too strong and I wanted to see if it just might be possible. While reading this book, I soon discovered that orchids are, in fact, easy to grow once I know the appropriate steps to take. I can't wait to follow the great detailed advice offered and start growing my own beautiful orchids as soon as I possibly can! I especially appreciated the recommendation that I get a fully mature orchid plant if I am an new to the hobby - which I am. I am glad I now know what signs indicate that I am getting the healthiest orchid plant possible. Since I love natural home décor, I was pleased with the suggestions on decorating with orchids. The more I learn about orchids and that it is simple to grow my own successfully, the more excited I am to head to my local garden center this weekend if at all possible. Thanks for the great information that has given me all the information I need to enjoy growing orchids!

Excited for my new orchid! I really enjoyed this book on orchids. I recently moved to a cooler climate, and was sad because I had to leave my potted orchid that I had received as a gift behind. I wasn't sure if I could grow an orchid where I live now, but this book provided a really helpful section on different types of popular orchids that thrive according to temperature. There was also a section on the most popular orchids and all of their visual characteristics and growing needs, so now I have an idea of what kind of orchid I am looking to purchase next. In case you would prefer to have a larger number of orchids, there is a really intricate section on repotting and dividing smaller plants, which I think would be good knowledge for someone fairly new to gardening. I really valued it for the level of information it had on different types of orchids and their specifications, which will help me a lot when I go to choose my new plant, and also the sections about shopping for orchids and growing them inside versus growing them outside.

This Ebook was such a disappointment. Nothing specific, nothing worth the read- every word could have been taken off wikipedia or generally googled. not even any pictures showing which plants were which.. do NOT waste your money.
